(Royal water reservoir)

Hauz Khas is an area in Delhi that is named after a water reservoir (in India it is called a water tank) that was built in 1296-1316. "Hauz" means "water tank or lake" while "Khas" means "royal". The area was developed in the 1960's. Some of the buildings were built for a school of theology.
